The Cold War began to slow down, tension was decreasing and the United States and the USSR meet to discuss the disarmament of nuclear weapons. To due Nixon's focus of pushing the idea of "triangular diplomacy," the United States was able to isolate the communist ideals. Nixon travels to Moscow to discuss nuclear disarmament Soviet leader in the 70's with Leonid Brezhnev. He and Nixon agree to a light trade agreement, and a joint space exploration mission, because of this new act of friendship the US was able to relieve tension.
