Marshall Plan was a plan to send money to help European countries after World War 2 except the Soviet Union because the U.S. was afraid of communism spreading throughout Europe. By fueling the European nations with money, they were able to jump start their economies and start producing more while increasing trade between the US and Europe.

Due to the tensions between the Soviet Union and The United States, the Soviet Union decided to seal all land routes to Berlin seizing all supplies going to the American controlled area of Berlin. To combat these issue, the United States decided to send supplies through the air. NATO- In April 1949 NATO was created to strengthen the unity between all the European allies and America.
